I meant "radio stations *like* Radio Disney". They pitched her music to pop channels, but her lyrics were too adult for the market. Pretty stupid, huh?

I'm glad you mentioned Carly Hennessy. You're comment about the content of Carly's song is interesting. I agree that it wouldn't work on Radio Disney, but if Aerosmith lyrics can get by on mainstream radio, why can't she?

I've heard a lot of buzz about Idol 'Ringers' who have had record deals. It seems unfair to me that amateurs are competing against people who have been groomed.
I look forward to listening to yout utterz bitz - sadly, I don't have a cell phone so I probably won't be joining. I also look forward to your continued idol updates.

Thanks, iremonger!

I think the problem with Carly's music is that the lyrics were too edgy for pop radio but the music was too poppy for adult radio. Actually, there isn't really an "adult" radio unless it's easy breasy stuff. lol This is probably one reason why country has taken off. The themes are more adult and thoughtful like music from the 70's and early 80's used to be. More story focused.

AS for ringers, if they've got the pipes to blow, as Randy would put it, then why not? They aren't THAT much higher above amateur. In fact, most of the winners from all seasons have all had singing experience on a local level, like Carry Underwood and Taylor Hicks. It makes a difference in their performances, don't you think?
